Santiago de Compostela

On the 11th of September, we drove to Santiago de Compostela, A Coruña province, Galicia, and checked into the Parador Los Reyes Católicos, another hostal originally built to house pilgrims, now a five-star hotel. Santiago is the destination of the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St James), the pilgrims' route from the Pyrenees to the tomb of the Apostle John in the cathedral. While visiting Compostela, we came upon a procession of the the reliquary of Saint Therese of Lisieux. This was our second encounter with the Little Flower of Jesus, having attended a similar procession in San Diego in 1999, during her centenary tour.
