We arrived in Donostia on the evening of the 15th of September after a full day of visting Basque villages. Carol and I checked in to the Aranzazu San Sebastián in the Ondarreta Beach section and then Carlos and I went to the other side of town to meet his friend Maite Morrissey. (Carol was feeling ill and turned in early.) The rest of us walked the old quarter and climbed Monte Urgull, from which many of these blurry photos were taken. We finished with an incredible Basque meal.

On the 16th, we returned to Bilbao, said our farewells to Carlos, reunited with Gastón and Martita at the Carlton, and drove on to Zaragoza, and checked in to the NH Gran Hotel Zaragoza. In Zaragoza, we relaxed and walked the picturesque streets, and dined on a fabulous meal in a tiny restaurant near the hotel.

On the 17th, we departed for Barcelona.
