Lillian states that seven children moved to Missouri with their father. We know that these were William, Stephen (or Steven), Martha, Benjamin Jr., Julia, John C., and Melchert. She also states that four married daughters remained in Indiana. These must have been Jeriah, Elizabeth, Nancy, and Polly Ann. That accounts for 11 names. The only child not accounted for is Jacob, and it must be assumed that he died sometime before the move.
